Abstract:

The purpose of this project is to document the cultural landscape at the Lakefield Lock Station over the nineteenth and early twentieth century. The project will focus on the development of the lumering industry with emphasis on the early construction and infrastrucutre development in Lakefield and surrounding areas along the Trent Severn Waterway.

The purpose of this research is to create an interactive exhibit/display that will educate grade five students about solar energy. This research investigates the characteristics which make a successful interactive display; one in which [sic] is accessible to all visitors and keeps the user motivated and interested to learn.

A climate analysis for grape production in Central Ontario: temperature analysis

With the increase in regional temperatures, there is a real potential for the Central Ontario Region to become a viable region for the production of grapevines (Viits vinifera). This paper examines six climatic variables (minimum daily temperatures, total number frost free days, first occurrence of frost, last occurrence of frost, numbers of days below -23 Celsius, and the yearly amount of heat units from six locations throughout the region (Burkerton McLaughlin, Chatsworth, Delhi, Georgetown, Morrinsburg, and Peterborough, Ontario).

Abstract:

This project examines current development pressures on areas in the rural-urban fringe within Cavan Monaghan Township. A selection of photographs were taken within the villages of Millbrook, Cavan and Fraserville in an effort to document the visual character of the township prior to future development.

Abstract:

In keeping with Lang Pioneer Village's mission statement of preserving, promoting and authentically recreating the rural history of the Peterborough County, this project has documented the historical connection between the area and the War of 1812. Though the Peterborough area was not the site of any recorded acts during the conflict, several questions have been answered in regards to its impacts on the local history.
